Dr Monique Faleafa (Chair)

Dr Monique Faleafa has over 13 years experience working with Pacific communities in District  Health  Board and non-government organisations, at clinical, management and governance levels.  She is a Clinical Psychologist and currently holds the position of Deputy Chairperson of the New  Zealand  Psychologists Board. 

She is also a member of the Pacific Advisory Panel to the Auckland’s new Supercity Council.

Monique leads Le Va, a non-government national programme specialising in  Pacific health workforce development with a clear vision of vibrant leadership and well Pacific families.

Geoff Hunt

HuntGeoff Hunt (ME, FIPENZ, MIET) is Chief Executive Officer of Kordia Group. He joined the business in 2005, and has led the company through its recent changes, and transformation into Kordia - now one of the region’s leading technology services businesses providing broadcast and telecommunications solutions and specialised networks.

Geoff has spent the past 19 years in leadership roles building high performance maintenance and construction companies operating in the electricity, rail and telecommunication sectors in New Zealand and Australia.


Faye Langdon

Faye Langdon, Trustee, NZCSI is the acting CEO, leading the organisation through this period of  transition to a new board and towards the launch of the School for Social Entrepreneurs in July  2011.

Faye is an experience business development professional who has successfully managed complex enterprise wide teams and projects in the public an private sector business environments in senior management roles. Her expertise spans from developing and implementing business plans and strategies, to helping establish business partnerships to leverage resources, expand market presence, provide access to and secure funding, and offer opportunities to diversify.

Geraint Martin

MartinGeraint Martin has served as Chief Executive Officer of Counties Manukau DHB since December 2006. CMDHB is one of the largest District Health Boards in New Zealand and services a population of over 450,000 with a high level of deprivation, diverse ethnic mix and young population. A major achievement for CMDHB is the recently completed Health Services Plan, a 20 year framework for all health services in the district.

Previously Geraint was Director of Health and Social Care Strategy for the Welsh Assembly Government. He has significant experience, where he authored a radical ten year strategy that is driving a total re-configuration of Welsh health and social care. Geraint has more than twenty years experience in health management. As a hospital chief executive, he developed the ‘see and treat’ system which has improved emergency department efficiency and has been adopted by the National Health Service and internationally. He has also worked closely with clinicians in improving clinical standards and improving patient safety. His work with primary care has included chronic disease management strategies and managing acute care to reduce the need for in-patient beds.

Justine Munro

Justine Munro is the founder of the Centre and until recently held the position of CEO. Due to circumstances changing she has stepped down from that role but will remain as an active trustee role ensuring her support and passion for the Centre and it’s goals is not stifled.

Justine is a strong strategic thinker thinker able to deliver on-the-ground results. Highly analytically capable, she is an outstanding communicator who brings across a unique cross-sectoral experience in business, law, public policy and education.

Chris Quin

QuinChris Quin is Chief Executive Officer at Gen-i, responsible for leading a team of 3,300 people at one of Australasia’s fastest-growing, innovative ICT services providers. Under his leadership, Gen-i is transforming the delivery and support of integrated IT and telecommunications solutions to organisations across New Zealand and Australia.

Chris managed the merger of Gen-i, Telecom Advanced Solutions and Computerland in 2004. He had previously established Telecom Advanced Solutions as New Zealand’s leading ICT services group, achieving year-on-year business growth and expansion into Australia.

Before joining Telecom in 1991, Chris was CFO for Mitel and Financial Accountant at Orica (formerly ICI). He took up his current role in 2004.

Rukumoana Schaafhausen

rukumoana-schaafhausen_p Rukumoana Schaafhausen has practised as a lawyer for a number of years specialising in the area of governance. She previously worked for a large scale property development company. She serves as a director/trustee on a number of Boards including Waikato Tainui Te Kauhanganui Incorporated, Tainui Group Holdings and Waikato-Tainui Fisheries Limited.


Baruch Ter Wal 

Baruch Ler Wal Baruch is LTW’s Managing Director, and an authority on business-to-business sales and marketing. He is the architect of dozens of successful communication and branding projects. Baruch’s regular clients include some of NZ’s largest companies, as well as a host of innovative start-ups and high growth SMEs. He has an extensive background in strategic and communications consulting, having previously worked as an Associate for McKinsey & Company and as General Manager of R&D within a Carter Holt Harvey business unit.

Nicky Benson - Learning Manager

Nicky-BensonNicky comes to the Social Entrepreneurs school with a wealth of life and business experience. No stranger to change, her career in the UK spanned teaching and over 16 years with The Body Shop including heading up their training school in the mid 80’s to early 90’s and running her own successful Body Shop franchise. With over 10 years in NZ working in the Learning and Development field  and running her own facilitation and consultancy business Nicky is a sought after coach and facilitator and has been described as values led, natural, flexible and courageous in her style. She has worked with many individuals and organisations to build personal leadership, resilience and sustainable ways of working to build both personal and organisational success.

Nadia Botha - Student Administration and Support Manager

Nadia moved to New Zealand from South Africa in January 2011. She brings a wealth of business management experience having managed an earthmoving company for over a decade in the industrial heartland of South Africa. Previously she worked as a Foreign Service Officer for the South African Department of Foreign Affairs.
