SI Camp over a weekend

The full SI Camp concept runs over a four month process, and finishes up with a weekend camp.

How does it work? Social entrepreneurs submit their innovative ideas, and the best 6 or so are selected for further development. We put together teams of 4-6 people around each idea, including:

  • The entrepreneur who sent in the idea
  • A facilitator to keep things moving forward
  • Developers and designers providing input
  • Web entrepreneurs to help shape it up

At the weekend camp, each team will race to build:

  • A web prototype, complete with working software
  • A plan to take the idea forward organisationally

The event concludes with a pitching competition, where the winners take away prize money, mentoring assistance, and extra development help.

We’re planning to hold our first weekend SI Camp later in 2009.
